Satan is the god of this world:

“But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
whose minds the god of this world has blinded…”
2nd Corinthians 4:4

But his time is soon to run out.

The Lord God is sovereign:

“It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
He brings the princes to nothing;
he makes the judges of the earth useless.”
Isaiah 40:22-23

Most of the attention of the world is focused on who will be the “princes” who will rule over the people.

Jesus said to render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, so it is incumbent upon believers to vote, to pay taxes, and to pray for God’s will to be done in the halls of the great men of the earth. Having said that however, believers need to keep in mind that a great chess game is being played out before us, with Satan making a counter-move to every move the Lord makes. We only just barely perceive the struggle as we watch the behavior of the politicians involved in the story, mostly unaware of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Indeed, HE who sits above the earth views the players on earth as puppets enamored with themselves. He brings princes to nothing. He makes the judges of the earth useless. It’s not a stretch to see exactly that as we witness the craziness being exhibited, revealing the foolishness of their darkened hearts.

Vs 24:
“Scarcely shall they be planted,
scarcely shall they be sown,
scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth,
when he will also blow on them,
and they will wither, and the whirlwind
will take them away like stubble.”

This is the ultimate fate of most of the great men of the earth. They are godless. Most who rise to the top are often there through fraud, through bribes, through all the wheeling and dealing that goes on as the powerful men of the earth vie for position. These things are decided behind the scenes. We have no idea what goes on in secret. They, backed by the power of Satan, are determined to bring in their one-world government, their global government, their New World Order. In the election of 2016 God said no to the globalists, not now Satan, it isn’t your time. But Satan’s time IS about to begin on this sorry world, and when that time comes, God will remove his hand of protection and it will all be handed over to Satan for a short time. He will have his seven years of unprecedented horror, culminating in the final all-out war between Satan and God himself at Armageddon. Then it will be over.

We don’t know where we are on the prophecy timeline. Are we there? We’ll know shortly. All we know now is that we have never seen evil such as we’ve seen it in the past recent years. Evil has gotten even more depraved than what took place in Sodom so long ago. Sodom remains desolate and covered in ash to this day.

“…as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these,
having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh,
are set forth AS AN EXAMPLE, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
Jude 1:7

But there is a God in heaven who sees it all. He will let evil men have their hour of fame and power, knowing that soon they will come to their end and will share in the fate of all wicked men.

Indeed, hell is eager to receive the great men of the earth:

“Hell from beneath is excited about you,
to meet you at your coming;
It stirs up the dead for you,
all the chief ones of the earth;
it has raised up from their thrones
all the kings of the nations.”
Isaiah 14:9

Do not strive to achieve fame and power, you have to be evil to attain it. It comes by back-room deals and bribes, with membership in secret associations, with lies and all manner of manipulation and deception. It’s always been this way, and in the end God will let evil have it’s way unabated – for a short period of time.

But you, believer, rather, seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all your needs will be provided you in this life, and position will be granted the faithful in the life to come.
Matthew 25:14-29
