There Are No Lost Tribes Of Israel

“For behold, the days are coming, says the Lord,
that I will bring back from captivity
my people Israel and Judah, says the Lord,
and I will cause them to return
to the land that I gave to their fathers,
and they shall possess it.”
Jeremiah 30:3
Israel and Judah…
Men speak of “the ten lost tribes”…
There are no lost tribes – the Lord would not lose any the tribes of Israel. They are included in the covenant. The Lord is not going to lose any of them.
After the reign of king Solomon the nation was split in two. Ten of the tribes were predominantly in the northern part of Israel and were called “Israel” and two tribes made up the southern part, called “Judah.” When the first judgment upon Israel came, the tribes in the north were the first ones destroyed. Quite awhile later the southern part, or Judah, was taken captive to Babylon.
BUT – and this is huge – before those destructions came, many out of the northern tribes moved into the south after the split because that’s were the Temple was and they wanted to continue to worship according to the ordinances of the Lord. And conversely, some of the southern tribes moved north because they had no use for God, wanted their freedom, and didn’t care about the Temple. Thus, there was a mixture of ALL the tribes THROUGHOUT the land, north and south. There were no lost tribes.
In the New Testament mention is made of the twelve tribes still being intact:
The apostle Paul mentioned them:
“To this promise OUR TWELVE TRIBES,
earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain.”
Acts 26:7
The apostle James mentions them:
“James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,
TO THE TWELVE TRIBES which are scattered abroad, greetings.”
James 1:1
And they are mentioned in the Book of Revelation:
“And I heard the number of those who were sealed,
one hundred and forty-four thousand
OF ALL THE TRIBES of the children of Israel were sealed:”
Revelation 7:4
“of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed;
of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.”
Revelation 7:4-8
Back to Jeremiah… There will be a full restoration of Israel and her enemies will be destroyed:
“Therefore all those who devour you shall be devoured;
and all your adversaries, every one of them,
shall go into captivity.
Those who plunder you shall become plunder,
and all who prey upon you I will make a prey.
For I will restore health to you
and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord…”
Jeremiah 30:16-17
Jeremiah tells us that this passage will be fulfilled in our time, “in the last days:”
vs 24:
“In the last days you will consider it.”
This ancient prophecy is literally being fulfilled right now, before our very eyes.
